What is your religious background?

Tell us about the religious background you were born into. What was the religion? To what extent did your family believe/practice it? To what extent did you believe/practice it? If you adopted another religion before embracing Islam, it’s probably best that you mention that in your journey to Islam down below.

What is your geo-ethnic background?

Tell us about your geo-ethnic background. Where were you born (in terms of country, town etc.)? What are the different places in which you’ve lived? If your ethnic background differs from where you were born, then be sure to talk about where your parents and grand-parents are from.

Who were you before Islam?

Tell us about your character before Islam. What were you like? Where were you headed? What did you want from life? What did you not want from life? What had you achieved? And so on.

How did you end up becoming Muslim?

Tell us the story of how you became Muslim. Your story will help and inspire others. You will not have to share anything that makes you uncomfortable. Write as much as you can in 1,000 words or less. In many cases, we’re sure that 1,000 words will not be enough. Do your best to summarise sections and remove extra details.

How has Islam impacted you and your life?

Tell us how embracing Islam has positively impacted you and your life. How has Islam changed negative attitudes that you had? What negative relationships did you have and how has Islam changed them? What were your goals before Islam and what are they now? How would a family member, relative or friend describe you before and after Islam?

What concerns did you have before converting to Islam?

Tell us about the concerns you may have had about embracing Islam. Perhaps huge concerns which delayed your conversion for weeks, months or years. Or concerns which crossed your mind but didn't stop you. Please give concrete details so we present them in a unique way when compare to other converts with similar concerns.
